Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Shodh Peeth was established during the Convocation Ceremony on October 6, 2015, when the Hon'ble Governor of Rajasthan, Shri Kalyan Singh, emphasized the need for establishing Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Shodh Peeth. The then Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kailash Sodani, immediately announced the establishment of the Peeth with funding of Rs. one crore from Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer. The amount was invested as a fixed deposit, and the interest generated from it is utilized for the activities of the Peeth. The inauguration was conducted on May 11, 2016, by the Hon'ble Governor of Rajasthan, Shri Kalyan Singh, at Raj Bhawan, Jaipur.
Activities / Academic Programs
- On February 25, 2025, a conference/seminar titled "Ek Desh Ek Vidhan" was organized by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Shodh Peeth. The then Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kailash Sodani was the Guest of Honour. The keynote speaker was Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of India, Shri Ashwini Upadhyaya, and Shri Jagdish Rana of the Rajasthan High Court was the Chief Guest.
- On April 14, 2025, Ambedkar Jayanti was celebrated. Faculty members, students, scholars, and social activists gathered and presented their views on the contributions of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.
- On the occasion of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda on November 15, 2025, "Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas" was celebrated and a National Conference/Seminar was organized by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Shodh Peeth. Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Suresh Kumar Agarwal was the Guest of Honour, Dr. Richa Sharma (Research Officer, ICSSR, New Delhi) was the Chief Guest, and the keynote speaker was Dr. K. B. Agadi, Librarian, Central University of Rajasthan.
- On December 06, 2025, a Puspanjali Programme was organized. Professors, guest faculty, officers, employees, social activists, research scholars, and students participated in the program and presented their views on Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.
Vision
The vision of the Shodh Peeth is to ensure social emancipation, economic empowerment, educational excellence, and active participation of Dalits in the nation.
Based on the values of an egalitarian social order such as justice, liberty, equality, fraternity, and secularism as envisaged in the Constitution of India, and guided by the views, ideals, thoughts, and philosophy of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the mandate of the University is to work for the development of society in general and particularly for the deprived and socially discriminated sections through research, teaching, training, sensitization, and extension programs.
