Profile

The Department was established in the year 1994.  The Post Graduate programme is of four Semesters.  The Department has adequate infrastructure and laboratory facilities.The M.Sc. Programme includes various subjects like Nutritional Biochemistry, Therapeutic Nutrition, Food Science, Food Analysis, Food Microbiology, Public Nutrition, Human Nutrition etc.The Department also runs a three year undergraduate program B.Sc. Food Science and Nutrition of  six semesters. There is also a one year P.G. Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics of two semesters and the Department also offers a Post P.G. Diploma of one year duration Advanced Diploma in Food and Health Security .As part of the M.Sc. Programme and P.G. Diploma the students undergo Internship in reputed Hospitals of the country.  The students find placements as Dieticians, Health Counsellors in Food Industries, NGO’s and on teaching positions in Colleges and Universities.
