Professor Suresh Kumar Agrawal

Vice Chancellor, Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer

Professor Agrawal is an eminent academician holding an M.Phil (ELT) and Ph.D. With over 36 years of distinguished teaching experience, including 14 years as Professor of English and Comparative Literature, he has served for more than two decades at a university in Udaipur and 12 years at Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner. From February 2023 to July 2025, he was a Professor at the Central University of Gujarat.

He is the recipient of prestigious awards including the Leadership for Academicians Program (LEAP) Award by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and has contributed to higher education policy-making as a member of committees for both the Government of Rajasthan and Government of India.

Currently, he serves as UGC-Nominated Member, Planning Board, Central University of Lucknow; Hon'ble Governor-Nominated Member, Board of Management, Govind Guru Tribal University, Banswara; and Hon'ble Governor-Nominated Member, Planning Board, Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa. Earlier, he was the Hon'ble Governor-Nominated Member of Academic Councils at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University, Jaipur and University of Kota, Kota, and served three times on the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan, Ajmer.

Professor Agrawal has also held key academic positions including Dean, Director (IQAC), Head of the English Department, and member of Academic and Executive Councils at Maharaja Ganga Singh University. He has been an external member on boards of studies at around 11 Central and State Universities, including JNU.

A prolific scholar and author, he has authored and edited 37 books, published 60+ research papers in UGC-CARE and Scopus-indexed journals, contributed nearly 100 book chapters, supervised 25 Ph.D. and 40 M.Phil. projects, and completed multiple UGC- and ICSSR-sponsored research projects. He has actively participated in over 70 national and international seminars and delivered 90+ lectures on NEP 2020 and Indian Knowledge Traditions.
